We learned how prednisone can cause the development of osteoporosis, but did you know it can also cause cataracts? Long-term use or very high doses of prednisone can have a significant effect on eyesight.

I am a very health and nutrition conscious person who 3 years ago suffered from ocular edema and was prescribed prednisone drops. After developing “floaters” recently, revisiting eye doctor for follow up revealed a cataract in that eye. I was not told of this side effect.
