Great Comebacks Awards Announced

This year, for the first time, the Great Comebacks Program is honoring 5 people, each in a different region of the country. The recipients are:

• Northeast: Bob Baker, 45, Washington Depot, CT
• Mid-Atlantic: Thomas Rinkacs, 39, Laurinburg, NC
• South: Julie Vaughan, 36, Plano, TX
• West: Eric Hayes, 46, Carlsbad, CA
• Central: Sandra Benitez, 65, Edina, MN

The Great Comebacks program was begun by ostomate, ulcerative colitis survivor, and former San Diego Charger place-kicker Rolf Benirschke to provide "hope, inspiration and education to support patients and their families."
