Fun Site Friday: SitOrSquat.com

It seems strange to me that a basic human need -- one that all of us share -- is such a taboo topic. Finding clean bathrooms while away from home is not just a problem for those of us who have digestive disease, but also for pregnant women and parents with small children. This is not a small population of people!

That's where sites like SitOrSquat.com come in. Not only is this site a lot of fun to poke around on, it's also really, really useful. You can find bathrooms on a map and see their user rating, as well as when they're open for business. Some of them even have pictures of the facilities! And get this -- you can use this site with your iPhone or Blackberry. (Jon from SitorSquat.com tells me a new version of the iPhone software is on the horizon, which will improve usability drastically.)

If we get enough people on this site rating and taking pictures, we'll always know where the best bathrooms are in any city. The person who adds the most bathrooms between now and December 22 will win a $500 prize.
