Tips for Treating Skin Irritation from Diarrhea

Chili PepperEven most healthy adults experience diarrhea a few times a year, but diarrhea is a huge problem for people who have inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Diarrhea can be very irritating to the skin, and it tends to create skin problems which may be difficult to treat. Obviously the best way to keep diarrhea from causing damage to the skin in the anal area is to clear up the diarrhea, but that's not always possible. Taming an IBD flare-up could take some time, but while that's happening, the diarrhea can be unrelenting. Here are some tips on how to reduce the skin irritation, foods that can make diarrhea worsen, and foods that may help.
