Toxic Megacolon

There are a many complications of IBD. Some manifest in the intestines, others in different parts of the body. You almost can't keep track of all the "possible" things that could happen. Neither should you spend any time worrying about all these things, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be prepared. Toxic megacolon is a rare, but serious, intestinal complication of severe IBD. Even though the chances of it developing are low, it is important to know what may cause toxic megacolon and to recognize the symptoms.
