Gag Gifts: Yay or Nay?

As you may know from reading my blog, I'm not a big fan of "toilet humor." I've written a few times how going to that well in movies and TV tends to turn me off. (It should be noted, however, that there was one exception to this in a movie that had me laughing so hard I nearly had to go to the bathroom myself.)

Here on About.com, I try to keep things out of the bathroom, so to speak. I refer to body parts and medical problems by their proper names, and I don't make jokes of diarrhea or gas. After all, when you have IBD and are dealing with those symptoms, it's not funny, not even remotely.

That being said, I do come across quite a few things that might be funny as a "gag" gift for someone who has, or lives with someone who has IBD. It's therapeutic to laugh at ourselves, after all, but I am not sure how I would feel if someone gave me a gag gift of this type.

What do you think? Is it OK with you to give or receive a funny gift, or would you just rather skip it? Take the poll below!
