FDA Approves Colon Cancer Drug
ImClone is infamous now, thanks to Martha Stewart, but its new cancer drug has just received FDA approval. Erbitux is for use in colorectal cancer patients whose cancer has spread beyond the colon and into other organs. While it hasn't been shown to help cancer patients live longer, it has been shown to shrink tumors, especially when used along with Camptosar (irinotecan). The drug will be distributed by Bristol-Myers Squibb. Read more about colorectal cancer.
