Popular Pain Reliever May Harm Kidney
Diabetes guide Paula Ford-Martin reports that acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol, may cause a decline in kidney function over time. Other NSAIDs did not appear to have the same effect. The results of this study are important to people with gastrointestinal conditions, because they are advised to avoid NSAIDs and use acetaminophen for pain relief.
