Colon cancer can arise in any part of the colon. Colon cancer can be completely asymptomatic which is why a screening colonoscopy is so important. Initial symptoms and signs can include rectal bleeding, anemia, difficulty moving the bowels, diarrhea, blood in the stool, or a change in the caliber or size of the stool.
