Colon Cancer Awareness Month Fact - Screening Tests for Colon Cancer

Tests that may be used to screen for colon cancer include:

  • Colonoscopy: A test to examine the inside of the colon
  • Sigmoidoscopy: A test to examine the last section of the colon
  • Barium Enema: A special type of X-ray
  • Biopsy: A sample of tissue that may be tested in a laboratory
