Resection Surgery is a Common Treatment for Colon Cancer

Treatment for colorectal cancer often includes a surgical procedure where a portion of the colon and/or rectum is removed. The lymph nodes that drain the resected (removed) section are also removed and examined for evidence of cancer cells.
