Do you ever feel like you are the only young person with an ostomy or j-pouch? Do you have questions and concerns that no one can help you answer because you don't know anyone else with an ostomy? Here is your chance to meet other young adults just like you, and have a great time doing it!

What is it?
For young people ages 11 to 17 who have or may need an ostomy, continent diversion, and other bowel or bladder disorders.

Activities:
  • Sessions on personal hygiene, sexuality, self-esteem, self care.
  • Swimming, softball, volleyball, skating and other sports.
  • Dances, picnics, crafts, sightseeing, hiking, outings and other recreational activities.
  • Peer support and sharing.
  • When is it?
    July 11 to 16, 2009

    Where is it?
    University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado

    Who is it?
    The Young Adult Conference is for people between ages 11 to 17 that:
  • Have an ileostomy, colostomy, or urostomy.
  • Have a continent ostomy procedure (including J-Pouch).
  • Have IBD.

    How much does it cost?
    $425 per person, includes room and board, transportation to and from the airport and activity fees (some special individual activities may require an additional admission fee).
