Shayne Corson, left wing for the Dallas Stars began his National Hockey League career in 1985. He served as captain of the Edmonton Oilers from 1994-95, and the St. Louis Blues for 1995-96. He has played for Edmonton and St. Louis in over 870 games.
Corson was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis when he was just 15 years old and still playing midget hockey. Shayne wasn't public about his ulcerative colitis until his symptoms worsened. He was concerned his that symptoms might be from something other than ulcerative colitis, as he lost his father to esophageal cancer at the age of 45.
