Most people feel bloated and uncomfortable after a large meal. For people with IBS, the feeling may be even more intense, and set off other symptoms such as pain or cramping.

Rather than eating 3 large meals every day, try eating 5 smaller meals. Eating smaller meals during the day has several benefits. It keeps your blood sugar even throughout the day, so you do not experience "crashes" (tiredness, lethargy), and it is also useful in weight loss programs.
