Abdomen

The abdomen is the area of the body between the chest and pelvis. Some of the large internal organs comprised in this area are the liver, stomach, kidneys, and intestines.

Definition: The abdomen is the part of the body that is below the chest and above the hips. The abdomen contains several organs in the digestive system, including the stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. These organs are connected together in the abdominal cavity by a web-like tissue called mesentery.
