     It's not your imagination - some people with IBS do have more intestinal gas than people who don't have IBS. Other than staying away from beans, broccoli, carbonated beverages, and chewing gum, what can you do?

     In a 1986 study, activated charcoal provided some relief from gas for people who took it. It comes in both pill and powder, and should be taken two hours before or after other medications.
